In early January, our Volunteering & Communications Officer, Sophie, presented a draft volunteer strategy for 2023 to the rest of the team. After a thorough discussion and some tweaks, we now have a volunteer strategy to meet the needs of our service over the coming year.

The strategy was informed by feedback from volunteers and is made up of the following four overarching objectives:

1)  Increasing the speed at which home visiting volunteers are matched with families.

2) Boosting staff capacity through increased volunteering and new volunteer roles.

3) Increased number of families receiving our support through the strategic recruitment of more home-visiting volunteers.

4) Volunteers having the skills and knowledge to meet the changing needs of families as well as feeling better informed about how the wider service is changing to meet those needs.

Now that our strategy draft is done from our end, we’ll be sending out a poll with date options for a volunteer meeting, where we hope to get volunteers’ views on our strategy. If you’re a Home-Start Lambeth volunteer and are still reading this, please stay tuned and expect to hear from us soon! ✨🤗
