About Us
We are a charity offering friendship and support to families in Lambeth with babies and children under the age of 5. We believe that the earliest years in a child’s life make the biggest impact and are the key years of foundation for their future development. We want to make sure those years count so that no child’s future is limited.
We were set up in 1998 by a group of local people who wanted a Home-Start service to support Lambeth families.
Our mission is to provide emotional and practical support to families who are having difficulties managing parenting for a variety of reasons. Most parents would agree that being a parent, whatever your circumstances, isn’t easy.
Combined with additional pressures, such as illness or financial struggles, parenting can be tough. We provide trained volunteers who help parents overcome challenges and support them to create happy lives for their children.
Home-Start Lambeth is part of the Home-Start network of local schemes and adheres to a national framework of standards, which ensures high quality services across Home-Start. For more information about the Home-Start network, visit www.home-start.org.uk.
If you have questions about the service you have received from Home-Start Lambeth, please contact info@homestartlambeth.co.uk or give us a call at 020 7924 9292
We currently offer several support services:
Core support to parents with children under 5
Volunteers are matched with Lambeth-based families with children under five, to whom they provide weekly emotional and practical help. Support is offered in-person, including at parks and at the family’s house. Volunteers are given training and support to be effective and make a real difference to families in Lambeth.
