Domestic Abuse Support

The Freedom Programme

The programme also aims to:

  • Build confidence and self-worth.

“I’ve learned a lot and it’s nice to know I’m not the only one that’s been through this, I felt alone before this. Especially, because it’s easier to talk to strangers than to talk to family and friends. I’m very appreciate of that. I’ve been here through the weeks, without you things would’ve been very different. I’m happy I’ve met all of you and heard all your experiences, because I’ve been through majority of it – I just want to say thank you.”

“I think the Freedom project itself gives us space where you can reflect on situations that you might have doubted yourself in. Should I be accepting this? Is this wrong? Is this the norm? I think labelling the behaviors gives us the knowledge to go, no. It’s not me. It’s not me being too sensitive and we don’t have to accept and excuse those behaviors.  I think this project has taught us that it’s not okay, and I think myself and a lot of people just needed that little bit of, no, it’s not you.”
