Have you ever heard of cloud dough? Cloud dough is a simple recipe of three ingredients, flour, hand lotion and food colouring. Abigaile – our Little Legends toddler group facilitator – describes it as a sensory, fun and stress relieving activity. It also helps children to develop fine motor skills. 😊
Cloud dough has been a great hit amongst our Little Legends attendees. We don’t know who enjoys it more: the parents/carers or the kids! 😂 Everyone loves how they end up with super soft and nourished hands at the end and how easily and cheaply they can reproduce the activity at home.
If you’d like to give cloud dough a go, here’s the step by step:
- Place 2 cups of corn flour in a bowl
- Add some lotion and mix.
- If it is too wet, add more corn flour. Likewise, if it’s too dry, add some more lotion
- If adding colour, this can be added at any time.
- Mix and add until you have a play-doh like consistency and voilà!
Cloud dough is just one of the many activities at our free toddler group Little Legends. 🎉 All activities are carefully selected and designed to help 1-5s with their language development, fine motor skills, gross motor skills and problem-solving in a fun and safe environment. It’s also a great place for families to meet one another and build friendships.
Little Legends takes place every Thursday between 10.30am – 11.30am at Max Roach (Wiltshire Rd, London SW9 7NE) – more details here. 😊
