Home-Start Lambeth recently celebrated a remarkable milestone – our 25th birthday! 🎈To mark this special occasion and show our appreciation for the families we support and the wonderful volunteers and staff who make our work possible, we organised a day trip to London Zoo. The event was a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. 🐘
For many of the children, the trip to London Zoo was the first time they had visited the zoo. They had the chance to see and learn about animals they had only read about in books or seen on TV. Seeing the kids’ faces light up as they saw animals up close was certainly one of the most heart-warming moments of the day! 👩🏽👧🏼👦
The trip wasn’t just about the children; it was also an opportunity for parents and volunteers to connect with one other. Many of the families we support face unique challenges, and sharing experiences and stories with others who understand is invaluable. Parents chatted while their kids explored and new friendships and connections were formed. 🗣️
Our day at London Zoo was a beautiful reminder of the impact our charity has had over the past 25 years thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, trustees and staff. We are immensely grateful for everyone who made this trip possible. In particular, we’d like to thank London Zoo for the partnership and our trustee Jeannie and volunteers Vicky and Victoria for their amazing fundraising support.
